NEW TROOP COMMANDERS PROMOTED - COMMISSION APPROVES PROMOTIONS IN CID & TRAINING

October 14, 2008 (LITTLE ROCK) – The Arkansas State Police Commission today approved the recommendation of Colonel Winford E. Phillips, Director of the Arkansas State Police, to promote Lieutenants Keith Eremea, 52, of Russellville and Jeff Jester, 48, of Magnolia, to the rank of captain. Captain Eremea, a 31 year veteran of the department, will assume new duties as commander of the department’s Highway Patrol Division, Troop A. Captain Jester, a 22 year veteran of the department, will assume the position of Troop G commander. Troop A, headquartered at Little Rock, encompasses Pulaski, Lonoke, Faulkner and Saline Counties. Troop G headquarters is located at Hope and covers eight southwest Arkansas counties, Columbia, Hempstead, Howard, Lafayette, Little River, Miller, Nevada and Sevier. Other promotional recommendations submitted to the commission and approved today include, Sergeant Ron Stayton, 51 of Pine Bluff, a 23 year veteran of the department, promoted to the rank of lieutenant. Lieutenant Stayton is commander of the department’s Criminal Investigation Division, Company B headquartered at Pine Bluff. Corporal Mike Kennedy, 34, of Benton, was promoted to the rank of sergeant. A 14 year veteran of the department, Sergeant Kennedy is assigned to the Administrative Services Division, Training Section. Lieutenant Mike Foster, 49, of Alma, Highway Patrol Division, Troop H assistant commander at Fort Smith, was transferred to Troop I at Harrison. Lieutenant Foster is a 25 year veteran of the department.
